Wildish, Frances Henrietta Bancroft (15 AUG 1852 – 1 Apr 1919)

Frances Henrietta Bancroft, daughter of Francis D. and Laura Bancroft, was born at Menomonie Falls, Wis., on Aug. 15, 1852, being a relative of George Bancroft, the eminent historian. She was united in marriage to John Wildish on Feb. 24, 1873, in Waukesha County, and two years later they came to Clark County to make their permanent home. Nine children were born to them, six of whom are living. The children who remain to comfort the bereaved husband and father are Capt. Wildish with the 1st Division in Germany; Everett Wildish of the 32nd Division in Germany; Mrs. Grace Seif, George and Harry Wildish of Webster, Montana, and Mrs. Laura Sweetland of Belvidere, Ill. Mrs. Wildish is also survived by a sister and two half-brothers, Mrs. Alice Minor of Beloit, Iowa; Francis and Charles Bancroft of Waukesha.

Mrs. Wildish was a woman of splendid temperament, being kindly and charitable in all her actions and being endowed with womanly traits which endeared her in the hearts of all who became her friends. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of this city and an active worker in that organization.

She died on April 1st and the funeral was held on Thursday, Rev. Colman conducting the services.
