Hewett (17 Apr 1919)

Mrs. George Hetzel returned home Saturday from a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe McKimm, where she went to help her mother celebrate her birthday.

Myron Jacobs returned to his home in Racine, Wis., Saturday afternoon.

Billie Dux and wife were Sunday visitors at Walt Amidon’s.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Marvin and daughter, Mrs. Dan Dormandy, and son, Tracey, and Miss Dorothea Van Grunt spent Sunday afternoon at the Lon Cook home. Tracey has just lately returned from France, where he stood among thousands of other brave boys in some of the hottest battles, and it is very interesting to hear some of the stories he tells. He was gassed and had one leg broken, but is feeling fine now and looks good. Miss Van Grunt gave us some fine selections on the piano, which were enjoyed very much.

Laura Haskins is working at Globe.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pierce of Humbird had moved into the road shanties at Wedges Creek. Mr. Pierce is patrolman west of here.
