Gerhardt, Martha E. (11 December 1890 – 13 July 1974)

A native of the Town of Grant, Mrs. Martha E. Gerhardt of memorial Home died Saturday, July 13, at the age of 83. Funeral services were to be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Clark of the Neillsville United Church of Christ officiating. Interm3ent was to be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Gerhardt, the daughter of George and Minnie (Miller) Wilding, was born December 11, 1890, in the Town of Grant and received her education there, attending the Kurth School. She was married to Willard G. Gerhardt on November 30, 1910, in the Town of Grant.

The Gerhardts lived on a farm in the town of Grant for 42 years, then moved to Neillsville in 1952. After her husband’s death October 1, 1970, she made her home with her daughter until 1971, when she entered Memorial Home. Mrs. Gerhardt was a member of the United Methodist Church and of the Pleasant Ridge circle of the UMW.

She is survived by four children, Mrs. Theamore (Leone) Vine of rural Granton, Glen Gerhardt of North Hudson, Dale Gerhardt of Seattle, Wa., and Calvin Gerhardt of rural Neillsville; one sister, Mrs. Clarence (Elsie) Bossard of Granada Hills, Ca.; one brother, Jess Wilding of Neillsville; and by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
