Galarowicz, Minnie A. (29 May 1920 -23 October 2016)
Minnie A. Galarowicz, age 96, of Lublin, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday,
October 23, 2016, at Aspirus Care & Rehab in Medford, WI. Funeral services were
held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at St. Mary’s Polish National
Catholic Church, in Lublin. Rev. Marion Talaga officiated and burial followed at
St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation was held at the church, on Tuesday, from 9:30
a.m. until time of service.
Minnie A. Klosowski was born on May 29, 1920, in Chicago, IL, to Walter, Sr. and
Nettie (Zdancewicz) Klosowski. As a young girl, her family moved to a farm in
the Lublin area, where she was raised and received her education. Minnie
developed many skills and talents growing up and helping her parents on the
farm. She was united in marriage to her loving husband, Edward Galarowicz, on
September 20, 1939. Together they raised their family and farmed successfully
for 42 years until retiring in 1981. In retirement, Minnie was an avid gardener
who nurtured her flowers and gardens with loving care. She was most happy when
spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and had
a special relationship with each one of them. Minnie was, and will continue to
be, greatly loved and admired by her family.
She is survived by her children: Virginia (Bruce) Luraas of Withee, WI, James
(Kathy) of Excelsior, MN, Debra (Gordy) Palms of Withee, WI, Diane Galarowicz of
Lublin; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three
great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Ted Wojkiewicz of Stanley; several
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eddie, on October 29,
1985; two daughters: Delores Wasylko and Alice Wojkiewicz; one grandson, Charles
Copeland; four sisters: Lillian Bjornestad, Jeannette Krieger, Eleanor Nowak,
Jane Lencz; and one brother, Walter Klosowski, Jr.
