Heise, Edward A. (5 NOV 1930 - 1 NOV 2016)

Edward A. Heise, 85, Wausau, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at his home.

He was born November 5, 1930 in Rib Falls, son of the late Elgart and Selma (Weith) Heise.

Edward graduated from Edgar High in 1948. On June 9, 1956 he married Edith Draeger at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Edgar. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2011.

He served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War and after his discharge started a construction business in the Wausau Area. He worked as a field service representative for Crestline Corp. and American Medical Buildings in Madison and then as a construction superintendent for firms in Madison and Dubuque, IA. Edward also got a Real Estate Brokers license and had his own firm of Quality Builders and Realty in Platteville. He served as a district representative for Aid Associations for Lutherans in Mauston and Platteville. He and his wife owned and operated an antique and craft store in Wisconsin Dells for several years, after which they purchased a motor home and traveled around the US for two years. He served as president, secretary/treasurer and council member in many of the churches he was a member of.

Edward had many hobbies, several of which were buying and restoring wrecked cars and woodworking in his fully equipped shop. He enjoyed listening to country western and polka music. He also enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool at the Aging and Disability Resource Center.

Edward is survived by three children, Suzanne (Frank) Davis, Albany, Oregon, Eileen (Randy) Loew, Wausau and Evan (Anne) Heise, La Crosse, four grandchildren, Stephanie and Neal Davis and Nathan and Becky Loew, three step grandchildren and many great grandchildren, one sister, Jean Fandre, Stevens Point.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, 1351 S. Grand Avenue, Schofield. The Rev. Jeffrey P. Mahnke will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, town of Rib Falls.

There will be visitation for friends and family Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church.

The family would like to thank the caregivers that helped take care of and comfort him during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Edward's name.
