Goeltz, Glen A. (6 MAY 1954 - 6 NOV 2016)
Glen A. Goeltz, 62, of Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at
Agrace HospiceCare in Madison, after a short illness.
He was born in Marshfield on May 6, 1954, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, the son of
Frank and Kathryn Goeltz.
He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Harris on Aug. 31, 1974 in Colby.
Glen received his education in Colby. After graduation he attended the School of
Radiology in Marshfield obtaining his radiologic technology degree. Glen was
employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield for the last 42 years. He
retired in September of 2015.
Glen enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish and especially loved to camp. Glen
and Peggy had planned on taking off this fall and traveling in their RV. That is
the one thing regret; he didn’t get to fulfill that quest in life which is what
he had always dreamt of in retirement. His pride and joy were his two daughters
and two grandchildren. He was definitely a family man.
Glen is survived by his wife, Peggy (Harris); daughters, Jayme Strupp of
Marshfield and Jill (Jack) Hansen of Windsor; and grandchildren, Hailey and
Hunter Strupp. He is further survived by his sisters, Linda (John) Hart of
Marshfield, Kay (Eldon) Westberg of Phillips, Nancy (Wayne) Sterzinger of Eau
Claire and Margaret (Alan) Flaskrud of Mondovi; his mother-in-law, Ruth Harris
of Dorchester; sister-in-law, Jane (Boob) Stoiber of Curtiss; and
brothers-in-law, Rusty (Linda) Harris of Waupaca, James (Kathy) Harris of Bear
Valley, Bob (Kathy) Harris of Medford and Jack (Kathy) Harris of Spring Green.
His best buddy, Max, his dog, will miss him terribly.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; son-in-law, Jason Strupp; and
father-in-law, Russell Harris.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Fellowship Church, 217 McMillan St.,
Marshfield, on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, beginning at 11 a.m. Visitation will be
held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Glen was cremated and his ashes will be spread to his favorite places including,
but not limited to, Rock Dam and Stand Rock Campground and also into a tattoo
that his daughter, Jill, will be receiving as a memorial for her father.
Memorials will be named at a later date.
Condolences can be sent to Peggy Goeltz, 4427 Second Street, Windsor, WI 53598.
