Hmielak, John (23 JUN 1905 – 5 SEP 1968)

John Hmielak, 63, passed away of a long illness on Thursday, September 5, 1968. Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig's Chapel, Saturday, September 7, 10:30 a.m., with Father Constance Chilicki officiating. Burial was in the new St. Hedwig's Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Ted Lipinski, Anton Maslowski, Joseph Pabich, Hanford Anderson, Peter Wnek and Al Nowobielski.

Mr. Hmielak was born June 23, 1905 in Pittston, Penn. He was united in marriage to Helen Sniegowski October 11, 1932 at St. Hedwig's Church.

Surviving are his wife Helen, two sons, Robert of Thorp and Raymond, Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma; three daughters, Jane Zdroik of Rosholt, Wis., Josephine Hokanen of Stevens Point, Patricia Hmielak of Appleton; one brother, Edward Hmielak of Witt, Ill.; four sisters, Anne Hedler of Riverside, Ill., Helen Hmielak of Oak Park, Ill., Agnes Carmichael of Lexington, Ky., Ceal Bohaboy of Berwyn, Ill., and 14 grandchildren.
