Brandt, Bert (4 DEC 1892 – 24? Nov 1968)

A town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.) resident died of an apparent heart attack the second day of the deer season while hunting with a son in the town of Butler.

According to county officials, Bert Brandt, 74, was standing on a windfall when he suffered a heart attack and died. He was known to have had heart trouble.

Officials said there had been some shooting on the west side of him and believed the excitement brought on the attack.

He was born in Germany on December 4, 1892, and came to the United States with his parents as a small boy. In 1914 the family moved to Wisconsin and settled on a farm in the town of Worden. A veteran of World War I, he married Minnie Schmidt in 1920.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Robert, Kenosha; Donald, Eau Claire, and John, Thorp; one daughter, Mrs. Peter Pawelko, Florissant, Mo.; three brothers, Dick, Stanley; Arthur, Chester, Pa.; and edgar, Marydell, Ma.; and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Epiphany Lutheran Church, Stanley, with the Rev. Robert Olson officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
