Krause, Alice M. (Stubinski) (3 MAY 1927 - 7 JAN 2017)

Alice M. Krause, 89, Wausau, died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care, Weston. She was born May 3, 1927 in Marathon, daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Kocik) Stubinski. Alice graduated from Marathon High School in 1945 and on June 15, 1946 married Alex Krause from Edgar, WI. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1984.

Through the years they farmed in the Edgar, Athens and Hamburg areas. Alice will be remembered for her willingness to help others in need. She enjoyed playing Sheephead with friends and family. Her hobbies included crocheting, crafting, bingo and doing puzzles. Even when dementia took over, her kind and gentle heart shined through.

Survivors include her children, Gary (Jean) Krause, Wausau; Sandra (David Copeland) Krause, Bradenton, FL, Roger Krause, Joyce Krause, both of Wausau, Karen (Dale Conn) Krause, Apollo Beach, FL, Dale (Lori) Krause, Edgar, Jerry Krause, Mosinee and Roy Krause, Merrill; grandchildren, Todd Krause, Tanya (Ron) Krause, Toby (Trinity) Krause, Tyler (Lindsey) Krause, Corey (Sarah) Sonnentag, Traci (Robert) Leffel, Travis (Vanessa) Krause, Jordan, Jessi and Kelsi Krause, Chaise Kuckhahn and Bryce Krause; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Harper, Haydyn, Tanner, Landon, Rosalie, Brayden and Jacob.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Church of St. Anne. Private burial will take place at a later date.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the workers and staff at Atrium Post Acute Care for the caregiving and kindness she received while at Atrium.
