Mrs. John Frey Passes Away

Mrs. John Frey, a resident of Taylor county for more than 50 years, passed away at her home in Medford, Monday, May 20 following an attack of heart failure.

Mrs. Barbara Frey was born in Bavaria, Germany, August 8, 1849, and was 79 years and 9 months old at the time of her death. She came to his country in 1872. She was married in Sheboygan the following year and lived there until December, 1877, when they moved to a farm in the town of Browning in Taylor county. There they lived until 1914 when they moved to Medford where they have since made their home on Broadway.

Mrs. Frey is survived by her husband John Frey, seven children, four daughters, Elizabeth, Milwaukee; Anna, Mrs. Frank Zuleger; Jennie, Mrs. Ewald Schaarschmidt; Helen, Mrs. Wm. Hurtienne; three sons, William, John J., and George, all of Taylor county, 39 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two daughters and one son preceded her in death.

Mrs. Frey was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church and funeral services for her will be conducted by Re. H. S. Schaller at the family residence at 1:30 o’clock today, Thursday. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Frey’s three sons and three sons-in-law will serve as pall bearers. They are, William, John J., and George Frey, and Frank Zuleger, Ewald Schaarschmidt, and William Hurtienne.
