White, William C. (7 AUG 1945 – 1 MAR 2017)

William C. White, age 71, of Greenwood (Clark Co.), WI, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Per William's wishes, no services will be held.

William Charles White was born on August 7, 1945 in Waukesha, WI, to Lawrence C. and Vivian J. (Arndt) White. As a young child, William's family moved to Thorp (Clark Co.), WI, where he was raised and received his education. After completing his education, he worked on the farm for John Trybula, and also worked at the Wedges Creek Research Farm in Neillsville, WI. William was united in marriage to Ida Sessions on October 26, 1985, at St. Paul's Lutheran in Rib Mountain, WI. He later worked for Cooperative Services in Thorp, until in closed in 1988. William then drove semi-truck over the road until retiring in 1995. In the fall of 2016 he went on the Honor Flight for veterans, to Washington, D.C.

He had many interests, but especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading.

He was a member of the Greenwood American Legion Wallis-Hinker Post #238.

William is survived by his wife, Ida, of Greenwood; one son, Kristopher (Heather) White of Thorp; two grandchildren, Caitlin and Justin White; three sisters; six brothers; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one stillborn sister, Judy White.
