Hommel, Ella G. (Ramm) (15 FEB 1925 - 17 APR 2017)

Ella G. Hommel, 92, of Medford, passed away on Monday April 17, 2017 at Aspirus Medford Hospital.

Ella was born February 15, 1925 in Medford to William and Gertrude (Zastrow) Ramm. She married Roman A. Hommel, Jr. Roman preceded her in death January 13, 1989.

She is survived by her Children: Dean (Sharon) Hommel of Medford, Mary (Paul) Tishim of Marshfield, Mark (DeAnn) Hommel of Westboro, granddaughter: Sydney Tishim of Madison, sisters: Betty Zueleger of Medford, and Joyce Ramm of Merrill, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ella is further preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Ferdinand, Clarence and Ruth.

Ella worked at Weather Shield Windows in the Assembly Division, and retired from there in 1985. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and was active in the Homemakers Group and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She enjoyed attending dinners and socials at church, and traveling. Ella loved attending parades and spending time with her family.

Ella was also a member of the Chelsea Conservation Club for over 40 years where she served as an officer and the Tops Club. She volunteered with the 4H Club, and was a driver for Meal on Wheels.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday April 20, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Father Phil Juza will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford Chapel, on Wednesday April 19, 2017 from 4- 7:00 PM, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume Thursday at Holy Rosary Church from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation in honor of Ella can be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with arrangements.
