Rudolph, Bernard R. “Ben” (19 AUG 1933 - 14 FEB 2011)

Bernard R. “Ben” Rudolph, age 77, of N2759 Grahl Drive, Medford, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 at his residence in the township of Browning under the loving care of his family and Hope Hospice.

The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 19 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford where there will also be military rites performed by the Medford Military Honors Team. Father Gerard Willger will officiate and interment of cremated remains will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford at a later date.

Pallbearers will be Robert, Edward Jr., Mike & Harvey Rudolph, Douglas & Curtis Brushaber, Dick & Larry Sackmann.

Visitation will be held at the Hemer Funeral Home from 4-8 PM Friday, February 18 where there will be a 7:00 PM Catholic prayer service held that evening and also from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM on Saturday, February 19.

Ben was born on August 19, 1933, in the township of Browning, to Andrew George and Esther Francis (Behling) Rudolph. He attended Mathey elementary school, in the township of Medford and graduated from Medford High School. On November 18, 1961, Ben was married to Mary Ann Hoeck.

He was a US Army veteran having served from 1955 to 1957. He worked at Gad Cheese, Francis Melvin Co. and George Haenel Logging for periods of time. In 1970 they purchased a farm in the township of Browning and farmed until retirement in 1996. In retirement he worked at his favorite hobby of making wooden models. He also enjoyed craft shows. Ben was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford; Medford High School FFA Alumni.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Rudolph of Medford; children George (Pam) Rudolph of Stetsonville, Paul (Tammie) Rudolph of Norfolk, VA, Charles (Dawn) Rudolph of Medford, Angela (Vern) Metcalf of Stetsonville, Diana (Dan) Rogers of Stone Lake, WI, Andrew (Amy) Rudolph of Medford; 14 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

Ben is also survived by his siblings, Rachael Sackmann of Stevens Point, Harold (Rita) Rudolph of Medford, Helen (Eugene) Brushaber of Medford, Shirley (Raymond) Molitor of Medford, Edward (Lucille) Rudolph of Medford.

He is predeceased by his parents Andrew George and Esther Francis (Behling) Rudolph; and siblings, Sally Koszarek in 1995 and John Rudolph in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to Hope Hospice of Medford.
