Arlene E. Egan, 85, Willard, died peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Century Oaks. It was Arlene’s wishes to be cremated and buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Kaukauna. A gathering will take place from 1-4 p.m., on Saturday, May 13, at Arlene’s Inn, N8631 County Road G, Willard. Arlene Hendrickson was born on Jan. 25, 1932, in Loyal, the daughter of Art and Ila (nee Salzwedel) Hendrickson. On Dec. 3, 1955, Arlene married James Egan (who preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2017) at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. She loved gardening, socializing, trips with her sister Opal, and running her bar (Arlene’s Inn) in Willard. Arlene worked in food services for many years, ending that career as a hostess at Mark’s East Side. She was also a Kaukauna High School lunch lady and study hall supervisor. Arlene then went to college and received a degree in insurance and operated the Egan Insurance Agency. After retiring to Willard, she owned and operated Arlene’s Inn, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: George (Janie) Egan, Ogdensburg, and James Egan, Ogdensburg; four daughters and a son-in-law: Barb Egan, Kaukauna, Lynn Egan, Appleton, Diane (Tom) Simon, Combined Locks, and Liz (special friend Tim) Egan, Hilbert; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Archie (Marlene) Hendrickson, Greenwood; one sister, Faye (Larry) Lange, Spencer; a sister-in-law, Betty Hendrickson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; four brothers: Rodney, Orville, Henry and Jimmie Lee; and a sister, Opal.
