Graves, Edith A. (19 AUG 1878 – 16 JUL 1972)

Funeral services were held for Edith A. Graves, 93, Spencer, on Wednesday, July 19, 1972, at the Rux Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m., following her death, July 16, 1972 ay 3:00 at Colonial House in Colby.

The Rev. Bernie Scott officiated and burial was made in the West Spencer Cemetery (Clark Co., Wis.). The Pastor and Mrs. Bernie Scott sang "Near to the Heart of God," with Mrs. Darrell Roder as the accompanist.

Pallbearers were Spencer Graves Jr., Frederick Graves, Michael Graves, Tom E. Loughead, James Sautner, and John Orgish.

Edith A. Graves was born August 19, 1878 at Kidderminster, England, and received her education in the Spencer schools. The former Edith A. Griffin was married to Spencer E. Graves, Spencer, in 1901, and worked as a seamstress and homemaker.

She was a member of the Women's Relief Corps of Spencer.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Kenneth D. Graves, Spencer, Donald E. Graves, Wauwatosa, and one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Lucille) Tack, Spencer; 8 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Sayles, Osseo, Wisconsin.

Three sisters preceded her in death.
