Poler, Wanda Elizabeth (15 July 1926 – 9 June 2017)

Wanda Elizabeth (Ferguson) Poler, 90, of Neillsville passed into God’s heavenly gates Friday, June 9, 2017, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

She was born July 15, 1926, in the Township of Washburn, Clark County, the daughter of Fred and Mable Ferguson. She was a 1943 graduate of Granton High School.

She married Robert E. Poler in Neillsville March 10, 1946. She, along with her family, lived in Neillsville until 1966, when they moved to West Bend after the closing of the Milk Products Company in Neillsville. They returned to their original homestead in Neillsville on Fairground Avenue in 1988. Then, in July of 1999, she and Robert moved to their new retirement home on STH 73, Neillsville.

Wanda was a devoted caregiver throughout her life to her three sons and husband. She enjoyed reading, knitting, polka music, and watching deer in her back yard. She was also a firm believer, and member of the Living Hope Church, Neillsville, where she attended faithfully, and sponsored Bible studies in her home.

She is survived by three sons Darwin (Kathleen) Poler, Essex, MD, Glenn (Jan) Poler, Fond du Lac, and Clay (LuAnn) Poler, Wisconsin Rapids; 12 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Russell Ferguson, Roxboro, NC; two sisters, Shirley Bragg, Springdale, AR; Kittie Tostenson, Houston, MN; and a half-sister, Patricia (Ron) Everson, Marshfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Lovella “Va;” Poler, brothers-in-law, Charles Poler, and Leonard Tostenson, and Peter Bragg, daughter-in-law Patricia Poler, and great-grandson Sebastian Wisse.

A memorial service will be held July 16, 2017, after the 10:30 a.m. service at Living Hope Church, 7 Fairground Avenue, Neillsville.
