Czahor, John F. (14 JAN 1954 – 21 JUN 2017)

John F. Czahor, age 63 of Gilman, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, June 27 at 11 a.m. at S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman with Fr. Mandanu Lourdu Raju officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery.

Friends called at the Gilman Funeral Home on Monday, June 26 from 4-8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. Parish Rosary Service; and again on Tuesday, June 27 from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

He was born on January 14, 1954 at the Stanley Hospital to Frank and Stephanie (Korus) Czahor and attended Gilman Schools, graduating in 1972. Along with his brother, Frank and Frank’s wife, Marcie, he worked on the family farm for 45 years. John loved all professional sports and old movies. Mostly a home-body, he loved to talk to friends and visitors and had a great memory for dates and places.

Survivors include his siblings: Theresa Schlaak of Sherwood, Richard, Frank (Marcy) both of Gilman, Rosemary (Robert) Dycus of Las Vegas, Nev., James (Patricia) of Gilman and Patricia (Duane Plantz) Czahor of Plainville, Kan.; many other cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, William Schlaak and a nephew, Christopher Dycus.

Plombon Funeral Services assisted the family with arrangements.
