Webster, Daniel L. (7 JUL 1976 - 7 MAY 2008)

Daniel L. Webster, age 31 of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at University Hospitals, Madison.

Daniel was born July 7, 1976, in Medford, the son of Richard Webster and Janet Finke. He attended his early years of school at Maple Lake, Minn., then moved with his family to Gilman to attend junior high and three years of high school there, then returning to Maple Lake School, Minn., to graduate from high school in 1993.

He then attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with a Read More bachelor's of science degree in political science. During this time he was able to study abroad for one semester in Germany, of which he was so proud of, and while there he went to Lublin, Poland, the country of his mother's family heritage. While living in Minnesota, Daniel worked for the Red Lobster restaurant as a waiter and a few years later when he moved to Madison he was welcomed at the Red Lobster restaurant in Madison as an employee because of his good service. He was also attending graduate school at the UW - Madison to acquire his doctorate degree to become a professor. Daniel spent much of his spare time volunteering at group homes and was the director for the March of Dimes, and participated in many walk-a-thons to help raise money for babies and children in need. He was also very active in the Democratic presidential campaign for John Kerry and the Doyle for governor campaign.

Daniel is survived by his mother, Janet Finke of Cornell, Wis.; father, Richard Webster of Gilman, Wis; dad, Ken Finke of Cornell, Wis.; three brothers, Ryan (Jennifer) Finke, Kevin Finke and Kyle Finke all of Minnesota; two sisters, Kathryn (Michael) Otos and Amy (Chris) Johnson both of Minnesota; three nephews, Jackson Otos, Connor and Tanner Johnson; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Lis of Stanley, Wis.; paternal grandmothers, Arlene Webster of Gilman, Wis. and Edna Finke of Minnesota; special friend, Ben Ternus of Madison; plus many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kirby Webster; maternal grandfather, Frank Lis; and paternal grandfathers, Donald Webster and Erwin Finke.
