Kulig, Agnes (22 MAR 1886 – 26 JAN 1971)

Agnes Budnick Kulig, 84, passed away January 26, 1971 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Reverend Michael Mertens officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service, and burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were: A.F. Bishop, W.J. Nolechek, Tom Baldeschwiler, Rick Bishop, David Rubisch and Bob Rubisch.

Mrs. Kulig was born at Owatonna, Minnesota on March 22, 1886. She was united in marriage June 17, 1914 at Superior, Wisconsin to Dr. Albert H. Kulig, who preceded her in death. Before moving to Thorp in the fall of 1927, she lived in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, where Dr. Kulig was in practice. In the past years, she was an active member in the American Legion Auxiliary, Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Bernard's Christian Mother's Society, and the Welfare Club.

Surviving are: three daughters, (Ruth) Mrs. Fred Pond of Suffolk, Virginia, (Irene) Mrs. Peter Horvath of Bethesda, Maryland, (Gertrude) Mrs. Walter Baldeschwiler of Marshfield, Wisconsin; one brother, John F. Budnick of Portland, Oregon; three sisters, Mrs. E.D. Szarkowski of Dundee, Michigan, Mrs. Arnold Tongerson of Joliet, Illinois, Miss Sophia Budnick of Joliet, Illinois; and six grandchildren.
