Kovatch, John B. (23 JUN 1897 – 30 NOV 1969)

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church for John B. Kovatch, 72, Route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who died Sunday, November 30, 1969 at the Havenet Nursing Home. Cause of death was complications of age.

The Rev. H.L. Crubel, pastor, officiated, and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery. A general rosary service was held at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers were Frank Makovec, Joe Makovec, Lewis Nowak, Albert Nowak, John Prepuleh, and Tom Jablonic.

Mr. Kovatch was born June 23, 1897, in Yugoslavia. A single man, he came to the United States with his parents and had lived on a farm in the town of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.). He served in the Army in World War I.

Survivors include four brothers, Mike Kovatch and Charlie Kovatch, both of Owen; Walter Kovatch, Dorchester; Fred Kovatch of Faribault, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Anne O’Leary of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Mary Arnic of Milwaukee.

One brother, Frank, preceded him in death.
