Shanks, Kathleen R. (4 MAY 1955 - 23 JAN 2018)

Kathleen R. Shanks, Age 62, of Spencer, passed away surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Rev. Chris Schwanz will officiate. A time of visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of service at the church. A private committal service will take place at a later date.

Kathleen was born on May 4, 1955 in Marshfield the daughter of Kenneth and Helen (Yaeger) Shanks. She graduated from Stratford high school in 1973. Her employment included Stratford Design, Halder Bridge Bar as a cook and retiring from Wausau Windows and Wall Systems.

Her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Kathleen also enjoyed fishing, being creative with arts and crafts including making homemade greeting cards, playing sheepshead and arranging flowers. She was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed getting together to watch the Packers play. Kathleen was a remarkable story teller and enjoyed making others around her laugh.

Kathleen is survived by her mother: Helen Shanks of Stratford; her children: Tony (Kristie) Bangart of Stratford, Mike (Deanne) Bangart, of Stratford, Kristina Post of Spencer and Paul (Jill) Bangart of Spencer; her nine grandchildren: Dominic, Brett, Derick, Alaina, Dalton, Thomas, Andrew, Morgan and Lily; her sisters: Joanne (Mike) Jirschele of Stratford and Mary Newman of Wausau; her brother Robert Shanks of Stratford and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Shanks and brother William Shanks Sr.

In lieu of flowers memorials are being accepted by Kathleen’s family.

Her arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
