Lechner, Mary Ellen (18 APR 1970)

Sacred Heart Church of Elmwood was the setting Saturday, April 18, 1970 at 2:00 p.m. for the marriage of Mary Ellen Lechner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lechner, Elmwood, and Ronald Allen Kallio. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Toivo Kallio, route 2, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white A-line linen gown with a mock high waist of lace. Lace also trimmed the long sleeves, high collar and attached wide train. She wore an elbow length veil. Her bouquet consisted of white mums and pink roses.

Honor attendants were Pat Pelzel, a friend of Elmwood, maid of honor, and Dannie Kallio, brother of the groom, Stevens Point, best man. Other attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Lechner and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lechner, brothers of the bride, and their wives, all of Elmwood, and Debbie Kallio of Owen and John Kallio of Mt Vernon, Iowa, sister and brother of the groom. Steve Lechner and Bill Hayden ushered.

The aides' dresses were light blue and white lace trim and wore styled like the bride's. Each wore a blue and white mum in her hair and carried one large white mum tipped in light blue.

A reception at the Elmwood Rod and Gun Club followed the ceremony. Following a honeymoon to Canada, the couple will make their home in Elmwood.
