Dietzman-Natzke, Marie Violet (Bethke) (11 NOV 1920 - 26 SEP 2005)

Marie Violet (Bethke) Dietzman-Natzke, 84, Gilman, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Marie is the daughter of Leo Charles & Fern (Smith) Bethke. She was married twice, 1st to Everette Clifton Dietzman. Then to Allan R. Natzke.

Services will be Friday, September 30 at 2 p.m. at the Gilman Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Thomas Myher officiating. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman.

Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Gilman Funeral Home.

Marie Violet Dietzman-Natzke, age 84, long-time Gilman resident, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wis. Services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Gilman Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Thomas Myher officiating and with burial following in Meadowbrook Cemetery, Gilman. Friends and family may call on Thursday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Plombon Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marie was born on November 22, 1920, in Reedsburg, Wis., the daughter of Leo and Fern (Smith) Bethke. As a young girl, she moved with her family to the Hannibal area where she attended Donald schools and graduated from Hannibal High School.

She was united in marriage to Everette Dietzman on May 6, 1940, in Iowa, and resided and farmed in the Gilman area until he passed away in 1973. She was then remarried to Allan Natzke on July 24, 1976, at Gilman Presbyterian Church. During this time, she cooked for the Gilman School District for 22 years and also worked at Zastrows Care Center in Gilman and at the Wild Cherry Cheese Factory. Besides having a great love for her family, she also enjoyed crafts, sewing and gardening and was the leader of the Happy Hour 4-H Club for many years.

Marie is survived by her three daughters, Marion Poppe of Thorp, Mary Ellen (Wayne) Weeks-Rice of Sun City, Calif., and Elaine (George) Starks of Thorp; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; and her husbands, Everette Dietzman in 1973, and Allan Natzke in 1982.
