Ciolkosz, Mitchell M. (25 JUN 1937 - 16 MAR 2018)

Mitchell M. Ciolkosz, 80, beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and friend completed his work and went to rest with our Lord Friday March 16th 2018. Mitchell was born June 25, 1937 to Louis and Victoria (Opon) Ciolkosz of Thorp, WI.

Mitchell was a second generation of Polish immigrants from Poland and was raised on the family settlement farm. He attended Field school and graduated from Stanley High School in 1956. After High School he served 4 years in the US Navy. He married Patricia Jakubowicz in 1962.

For 12 years Mitch worked in Chicago, IL driving truck for Consolidated Freightways. In 1971 the family moved to Bloomer, WI. Mitchell farmed with his wife and 6 daughters on a dairy farm that he built with his family. He retired in 2005 when the cows were sold.

He was a member of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church and a fourth degree Knights of Columbus member. Mitchell loved farming, polka music, deer hunting, his wife, his girls, “tracking” at the Bloomer Aquatics Fitness Center and the Packers.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Patricia, daughters Deborah (Jeffery T.) Kostner, Sandra (Lorn) Dykes, Jacqueline (Daniel K.) Steinmetz, Kelly (Steven) Devine, Tricia (Thomas F.) Kwak, Annie (Snapper) LaGesse. Grand children, Danielle, Destiny, Lauren, Megan (Dustin), Zachary, Mitchell, Ted, Alexis, Cody, Madison, Ryan, Emily and Jessica. Great Grand Children, Josh, Wyatt and Brynlee.

He is also survived by his sister Delores Patterson, sisters-in-law, Julie Ciolkosz and Alice Ciolkosz all of Thorp; Joanne Ciolkosz of Woodruff, WI; Rita Ciolkosz of WA, Dorothy Derks of Boyd, Max (Rich) Wnek of Thorp; Pat Jakubowicz of Chippewa Falls, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Victoria (Opon) Ciolkosz, his brothers, Ervin, Leonard, Ronald, Edward Ciolkosz; and his sisters Virginia Buryznski, Bernadette Jakubowicz.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Sacred Heart Hospital, the Rehabilitation unit at Chippewa Manor Nursing home and the Hospice Care of Mayo Clinic.
