After nearly a century of unconditional love and caring for family and friends, Isabel was called home to God on Oct. 28, 2005, at her son’s home in Eau Claire, Wis.

She was born on Feb. 20, 1909, in Boyd, Wis., the daughter of Isadore and Esther (Flynn) Geist.

She grew up in the area, attending area schools and later teaching in one-room schools for six years. They farmed north of Gilman, Wis., for 10 years and later in the Huron area, town of Colburn, for 30 years. They moved to Boyd, Wis., in 1977, after they retired from farming. Isabel loved to go to church and play cards.

She is survived by three sons, Clarence (Janice) of Thief River Falls, Minn., Larry (Sue) of Eau Claire, Wis., Bill (Kathy) of Junction City, Kansas, plus 23 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence in 1989; two infant daughters; daughter Lucille Goebel; three brothers, Michael, Peter and Isadore Geist Jr., and one sister, Josephine Henke.
