Hagen, Marilyn I. (27 JUN 1939 – 13 APR 2018)

Spencer - Marilyn I. Hagen, age 78, was surrounded with family by her side at St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care when she was called home on Friday, April 13, 2018.

Funeral services for Marilyn will be at St. John's Lutheran Church, B3750 Highway 13, in Spencer at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Reverend Rebekah Tarras will officiate and serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. Visitation for family and friends will be at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home 201 South LaSalle Street, in Spencer from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 and also one hour before the time of service at the church on Saturday. Burial will take place in North Spencer Cemetery.

She was born on June 27, 1939 in Marshfield, WI to Gurney and Adela (Schaefer) Sweet. She was united in marriage to Donald D. Neumann on September 27, 1958 until his death November 11, 1986. Marilyn and Donald lived in Spencer where she helped Donald farm and raise their family. Marilyn later married Leslie Hagen on February 3, 1990 and they resided in Spencer. Marilyn spent many years quilting for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her children grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, loved camping, sewing, and baking homemade bread and cinnamon rolls. She always canned fruits and vegetables from her garden. She also loved to sit in her gazebo, scratch-off tickets and holding her little dog Mindy.

Survivors include her eight children; Noel (Kay) Neumann, Craig (Cheryl) Neumann, Paula (Tom) Pue, Shelley (Jay) Gardner, Michael (Janice) Neumann, April Neumann, Philan Neumann, and Neil Neumann; Two step-daughters, Wanda Krause, and Kathleen Neumann, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Corrine Kettleborough, and Elaine Spilner.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Donald.

Marilyn's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital, Seven North, and Palliative Care. The kindness you showed our mother is greatly appreciated. A special thank you goes out to the special nurse who sang to Mom every time she was caring for her.
