Hinke, Dr. Charles V. (28 JUN 1899 – 23 MAY 1974)

Dr. Charles V. Hinke, 74, of Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.), was killed in a car accident at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 23, 1974, at a town road crossing in Unity Township (Clark Co.).

Funeral services will be today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, with burial in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Loyal Petran of Racine, Wis. will officiate.

Dr. Hinke was born June 28, 1899 in the Town of Mayville (Clark Co.). He is a graduate of Abbotsford High School and Palmer College of Davenport, Iowa.

He was married on June 30, 1921 to the former Ethel Hunt, who survives him.

Dr. Hinke started his chiropractic office in Abbotsford in 1920 and was Abbotsford's oldest practicing businessman, spending most of his lifetime in Abbotsford. He was a member of the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Joel (Beulah) Watkins, Lombard, Ill.; Mrs. Ed (Joan) Kent, Lombard, Ill.; Mrs. Donald (Donna) Piehl, Arlington, Heights, Ill., and Mrs. Arthur (Mona) Wehrman, Loyal; one son, Charles Jr., R.R., Colby; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; three brothers, henry of Stanley, Alfred of Dorchester, and Ellsworth of Elmira, Oregon, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Bush of Dorchester, and Mrs. Alva Miller, Hemet, California.
