Huntley, Floy E, (6 January 1883 – 10 February 1975)

A native of the Town of York, Mrs. Floy E. Huntley of Memorial Home died Monday, February 10, at the age of 92. Funeral services are to be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the York Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eugene Carlson officiating. Burial will be in the York Center Cemetery.

The body of Mrs. Huntley will be in state at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday when it will be taken to the church to lie in state there one hour before the services.

The daughter of Horace and Edna (Smithers) Lawrence, she was born January 6, 1883, in the Town of York and was educated in area schools. Her marriage to Harmon W. Huntley took place February 16, 1905, in Neillsville. The couple farmed in the Town of York until 1962. Mr. Huntley died November 17, 1967.

Mrs. Huntley who had lived in Neillsville since 1962, was a resident of Memorial Home for the past several years because of failing health. She was a member of the York Center United Methodist Church and its UMW Society.

Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Irene Filitz of Neillsville and Mrs. Merle (Carol) Bushnell of Owen; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of a family of 12 brothers and sisters.
