Zickert, Percy F. (1908? – 7 JUN 1978)

Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) – Percy F. Zickert, 69, died Wednesday at his home.

He was born in Clark County and was married to Alma Anderegg. He owned and operated a Christie (Clark Co.) tavern and also the Grandview Club, near Neillsville, until retiring. He moved to Neillsville in 1973.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Ronell, Gordon, both of Neillsville, Dean, Minneapolis; four brothers, Glenn, Waupun, George, Francis, both of California, Martin, Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. Clayton Solberg, Waupun, Mrs. Orley Uttech, Juneau; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, with burial in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Zickert, Percy F. (4 August 1908 – 7 June 1978)

A retired owner-operator of two area taverns passed away suddenly at his home, Wednesday June 7, with funeral services held this past Monday in Neillsville. Percy F. Zickert, 69, of 604 West Sixth St., Neillsville. He was born to Reinhart and Marie (Grossneck) Zickert in Clark County, August 4, 1908. He received his education in the Neillsville Schools and worked at various jobs until World War II, then worked in defense plants. After his marriage to Alma Anderegg, Zickert owned a tavern in Christie and the Grandview club in Neillsville until he retirement about five years ago when he moved to Neillsville.

Surviving are his wife and three sons, Ronell and Gordon both of Neillsville, and Dean of Minneapolis: two sisters, Mrs. Clayton (Elorine) Solberg of Waupun and Mrs. Orley (Lorraine) Uttech of Juneau, four brothers, Glenn of Waupun, George and Frances, both of California, and Martin of Greenwood and ten grandchildren.

The 2:00 p.m. services were held from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home which was in charge of arrangements. The Rev. Maynard Stokka officiated with burial in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Music was with Virginia Karnitz who offered musical selections on the organ. Pallbearers were Franklin Gault, Kenneth Karnitz, Ronald Kalsow, John Hanson, Gorden Sharrett, and Eugene Christie.

Those attending the services were Mr./Mrs. Dean Zickert & daughters, Minneapolis; Mr./Mrs. Edward Anderegg, Mr/Mrs. John Heck, Mr./Mrs. Harvey Heck and Mrs./Mrs. Martin Zickert, of Greenwood; Mr./Mrs. Orlie Utteck, Juneau; Mr/Mrs. Jeff Keach, Mr./Mrs. Glenn Zickert and Clayton Solberg, Waupun; Kathi Miller, Brandon; Mr./Mrs. Glenn Z. Zickert, Jr., & daughter, Rapid City, S.D.; Mrs. Fred Jacobi, Unity; Mrs. Ernie Knoble, Marshfield; Mr./Mrs. Ervin Anderegg, Mr./Mrs. Marvin Anderegg, of Loyal; Mrs. Rueben Anderegg, Granton; Mr./Mrs. Ronnie Heinnel, West Bend; and Mr./Mrs. Delmar Bartsch & daughter, La Crosse.
