Friends and neighbors helped Carla Lien and Ann long celebrate their birthdays Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Witt and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dresser of Alexandria, Minn. were weekend visitors at the Harvey Witt home. On Saturday, they all attended the golden wedding anniversary of a sister in Loyal.

Word was received here of the death of Ferdinand Laabs at Pocatello, Idaho. He was a former resident of Curtiss.

Seven mule deer were the reward for a group of hunters who went to North Dakota last week. Returning home Thursday were Jack Fritz, Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Kaduce and his father, George Kaduce, of Belmont, Iowa; Les Staab of Dorchester, Art Rimes, Withee, and Harland Sundermeyer and son Steve, Also making the trip were Mrs. Shirley Kelley and son Pat. They all stayed at the home of Mrs. Kelley's parents, Mr. and Mr.s Phillip Kessel, in Belfield, North Dakota.
