McMiller, Viola Ann (4 JUL 1892 – 30 DEC 1971)
Mrs. Franklin McMiller, 79, a resident of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) since 1948, 
died at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley on the 30th of December 1971. Her 
death was attributed to a heart condition.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 3, 1972 at St. John's Lutheran 
Church, Withee. The Rev. Arthur Hellert officiated, and burial was made at Our 
Savior's Lutheran Church at Wheeler, Wisconsin.
Serving as pallbearers were Fred and Otto Rohland, Thorvald Carlsen, Sig 
Sorensen, Gil Cardinal and Walter Pawlkiewicz.
The deceased, nee Viola Ann Vennes, was born July 4, 1892 at Vancebur, Wis., 
where she received her schooling. On June 14, 1918 she and the late Albert 
Fortney were united in marriage at Wheeler, Wis. He preceded her in death, 
passing away May 4, 1937. On February 21, 1948 she was wed to Franklin McMiller 
at Coloma, and the couple moved to Withee later that year., where she had since 
made her home.
She is survived by her husband, Franklin, McMiller; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer 
(Agnes) Stalkopf, Little Rock, Arkansas; Mrs. Art (Louise) Cantrell, Menomonie, 
Wisconsin, and Mrs. James (Lucy) Hockings, Ironwood, Michigan; three brothers, 
Alfred Vennes, Wheeler, Wis.; Ralph Vennes, Everett, Washington; and Grant 
Vennes, Fort Valley, Georgia; two sons, Hubert Fortney, Wooddale, Illinois, and 
Virgil Fortney, Eau Claire, and a step-son, Ransom McMiller, Madison, Wis.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marion Fortney, in 1929.
