Berger, James A. “Shorty” (22 NOV 1933- 12 JUL 2018)

James A. “Shorty” Berger, 84, of Medford, passed away Monday March 12, 2018 at his home.

James was born October 26, 1933 to August and Mathilda (Zimmerman) Berger in Medford. He is a 1951 graduate of Medford High School.

After high school James enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Supply Handler. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He returned to Wisconsin and worked at AMC Plant in Janesville, GM Motors in Milwaukee, and then Weather Shield Window Company in Medford, where he retired from.

He loved to attend auto auctions, gun shows, traveling and tinkering with cars and motors.

James is survived by a sister Estelle Oldeberg, and many other nieces, nephews and family members.

Per James request, cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside service with military rites will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, July, 28, 2018. A meal will follow at Holy Rosary Social Center.

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with arrangements.
