Brown, Shirley (Jones) (9 NOV 1949 - 22 JUL 2018)

Shirley (Jones) Brown, 68, died on Sunday, July 22, at home in Kennan, Wisconsin.

Shirley was born on November 9, 1949, to Russell and Margaret (Rossman) Jones. She is survived by her life partner of 35+ years Richard Krohn of Hudson, Wisconsin; her daughter Dr. Heather Brown of Monroe, North Carolina; two sisters, Nancy Marshall and Judy Kucaba, and a brother, Lee Jones, all of Kennan, Wisconsin; and numerous nieces as well as grandnieces and grandnephews for whom she adored playing Auntie Shirley. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother Daniel Jones.

Shirley was many things in her life: daughter, sister, mother, partner, friend. An incredibly hard worker, she also was an ace pool shark who crocheted and made delicious jams and jellies. She was incredibly giving and caring, irreverent and funny. At her core, she was a woman who adored nature, especially birds, and gardening. Shirley believed that any day you could get out in the garden was a good day.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul the Apostle, W9485 Highway 8, Catawba, WI, on Friday, August 17, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Gerald A. Hagen officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. at the church until the time of the service.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.heindlfuneralhome.com

Shirley's family suggests that memorials take the form of an offering for a memorial garden that will be established in her memory.
