Koncel, William “Bill” A. (24 MAY 1924 - 11 AUG 2018)

William “Bill” A. Koncel, age 94, of Dorchester, passed away on Aug. 11, 2018, at the Home Place in Dorchester.

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester. Pastor Teri Hanson presided. Interment followed at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Friends and family were welcomed from 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Bill was born May 24, 1924, the son of Anton and Eleanor (Vlacia) Koncel in Berwyn, Ill. He graduated from Colby High School in 1942.

In September 1946, Bill was united in marriage to Leila Case in Medford. She preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 2007. Together they farmed east of Dorchester for many years.

Bill loved to ride his Harley motorcycle and enjoyed pulling with his Allis-Chalmers in antique tractor pulls, where he won many awards. He also enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann (Richard) Bunkelman of Colby; a daughter-in-law, Debra Koncel of Dorchester; six grandchildren, Cathy (Lee) Hansen of Two Rivers, Kenneth Koncel of Colby, Amanda Koncel of Medford, Michael Koncel of Dorchester, Kevin (Denise) Bunkelman of Colby and Alan Bunkelman of Colby; and five great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Janet Case of Almond; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leila; his son, Anthony; and two brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Teresa) and Melvin (Lorraine) Case.
