Kingery, Lana (11 SEP 1971)

Holy Family Catholic Church South, Stanley, was the setting chosen by Miss Lana Kingery as she exchanged her wedding vows on Saturday, September 11, 1971 with Douglas Robert Wagner. The Rev. Donald Berg officiated at the 1:30 double ring ceremony before an altar adorned with pompoms.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kingery, route 2, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wagner, route 3, Thorp.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was wearing a floor length empire waist gown, featuring a white satin band at the midriff and embroidered flowers on the lower three-quarters of the sheer sleeves. Her bouffant veil fell in three layers to below her shoulders, and she carried a bouquet of white daisies accented with yellow ribbons.

Linda Wiernasz was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Rose Ann Stachnik, Darlis Wagner and Kim Kingery. Their gowns were designed of crepe in full length, in brown, olive green, gold and orange, and each had a white bolero and they carried pompoms in baskets.

Dennis Wagner was the best man, and groomsmen were Arden, Gordon, and Robert Wagner. Ushers were David Johnson and David Oemig.

A reception was held following the ceremony at the Edson Pavilion, with 300 guests attending. Mrs. Kingery was in the receiving line wearing a purple A-line gown with purple pompoms, and Mrs. Wagner chose a brown and black print A-line gown and yellow pompoms.

Following a week’s wedding trip to the North Shore and into Canada, the new Mr. and Mrs. Wagner are making their home on route 3, Thorp, where the groom is associated with Bob and Doug’s Suzuki Sales and Service. The bride attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and Mercy Medical Center School of Nursing, and is employed at the La Salle Medical Service.
