Halida, Jean Marie (26 SEP 1971)

Miss Jean Marie Halida and Michael Paul Gustafson exchanged marriage vows Saturday, September 26, 1971, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church, Lublin. Father Roman Misiewicz performed the double ring ceremony, which united the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Halida, route 1, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gustafson, route 3, Stanley.

The bride wore a gown of imported linen fashioned with quarter length sleeves and a square neckline. The skim styling was accented by Venice lace and highlighted by a sweeping chapel train. A floor length chapel veil of sheer bridal illusion was secured by a pillbox headpiece. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations as she was given in marriage by her father.

Miss Mary Jane Halida, Lublin, cousin of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Darlene Crossett, Chippewa Falls, friend of the bride; Mrs. Barbara Ciokiewicz, Stanley, sister of the groom, and Miss Diana Halida, Withee, sister of the bride. The bridal attendants were attired in chiffon gowns in shades of mortar and orange, styled with bishop sleeves and high Necklines. Their orange veils were secured by petal cluster headpieces. They carried large bouquets of orange mums with trailing ribbons of orange.

Kanice Parnewicz, Withee, a friend of the bride, was flower girl. Kanice wore a floor length dress of white chiffon fashioned with bishop sleeves and a high neckline accented with Venice lace. Her floor length veil was secured by a petal cluster headpiece. She carried a single large mum with trailing orange ribbons.

Mr. Richard Losiewicz, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, friend of the groom, was the best man. Other groomsmen were Daryl Goetz, Des Moines, Iowa, cousin of the groom; Roger Pribbernow, Wausau, cousin of the bride; and Larry Ciokiewicz, Stanley, brother-in-law of the groom.

The ring bearer was Timothy Nitz, Stanley, friend of the groom.

Ushering duties were shared by Daniel Gustafson, Stanley, brother of the groom, and Stanley Halida Jr., Lublin, cousin of the bride.

A wedding reception for 400 guests was held at the Stanley Auditorium, where the music was performed by the Derbytown Boys.

A three-tiered cake encircled with orange roses and sugared doves, also encircled by a wedding bell where the attendant’s names were written on. The cake was designed and made by the bride’s sister, Miss Diana Halida.

In charge of the guest book was the bride’s sisters, Miss Kathleen Halida and Miss Elaine Halida. The cutting of the cake was taken in charge by the bride’s attendants.

The new Mrs. Gustafson is a 1970 graduate of Owen-Withee High School, and a 1971 graduate of Eau Claire District 1 Technical Institute. Her husband, a 1970 graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School, is engaged in farming.

They are making their home at route 3, Stanley.
