Lobacz, Michael L. (26 SEP 1918 – 9 FEB 1972)

Michael L. Lobacz, 53, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 1972.

Mike was born September 26, 1918 in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). He entered the service in April 1942, and served in Algeria-French Moroccan, Sicilian, Naples – Foggia, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and central European operations. Upon receiving his honorable in September 1945, he returned to Chicago and worked for the railroad until 1966, when he returned to Thorp.

Funeral services were held on February 12, 1972 at St. Hedwig's, with Father John Puerner officiating. Military burial service followed at St. Hedwig's Cemetery, with the Thorp American Legion. Pallbearers were Tony Rogus, John Sawczuk, Edward Pszeniczny, Joe Strojny, Ray Pszeniczny, and Frank Sonnentag.

Surviving are five brother, Joh, Withee, Joe, Chicago, Illinois, Stanley, Greenwood, George, Thorp, and Edmund, Fort Wayne, Indiana; three sisters, (Ann) Mrs. Joseph Jaskot, Chicago, (Helen) Mrs. Fred Kryzanowski, Elmwood Park, Illinois, and (Regina) Mrs. Chester Rogalski of Thorp.
