Halfen, Viola A. (23 MAR 1917 – 23 OCT 1969)

Funeral services for Mrs. Viola A. Halfen, 52, of Chippewa Falls, were conducted Sunday afternoon, October 19, 1969 at the English Lutheran Church at Bateman. The Rev. Donald R. Knecht officiated. Burial was made in the family lot at the Colby Cemetery.

She died Thursday evening, October 23, 1969 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Mrs. Halfen was born March 23, 1917 at Ashland, Wisconsin. She graduated from the Abbotsford High School in 1936. In 1942 she married Lawrence J. Halfen at Hastings, Minnesota. The couple resided in Fond du Lac and Marinette, Wisconsin. She moved to Chippewa Falls in 1953 and has resided there since then. She was a member of the English Lutheran Church of Bateman.

She is survived by five sons, Lawrence of Eugene, Oregon, Norman of Waupaca, Terrence of Minneapolis, Frederick and Gerald of Chippewa Falls; her mother, Mrs. Michael (Ida) Biegenski of McKinley, Minnesota; her father, Vernon Marks of Chippewa Falls, and one sister, Mrs. Herman (Evelyn) Blasel of Medford. A niece, Alma Kobs, lives in Colby.

A brother, Edwin, preceded her in death.
