Schultz, Diane Arlyle (31 AUG 1974)

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Kath, route 1, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), was given in marriage by her parents to the son of Victor Harder, route 1, Loyal. The Rev. Robert Fink played guitar and sang as Mrs. Calvin Schulz played the organ.

The Rev. Steven Hasenstein, in Zion Lutheran Church, Colby (Clark Co.), performed the nuptial rites for Miss Diane Arlyle Schultz and Rickey Lee Harder during a 6 p.m. ceremony Saturday, August 31, 1974).

For her day the bride selected an empire style gown of satin and organdy with lace. Her petal-pearl headpiece had a three-tiered veil with a train. She carried a cascade of red roses and white carnations with baby's breath.

Miss Peggy Teter, Minneapolis, Minnesota, was maid of honor, and Mr.s Daniel Bravener of Greenwood, Mrs. Gary Kallberg of Owen, Mrs. Terry Harder of Colby, Miss Bonnie Harder, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Robert Knecht, Abbotsford, were bridesmaids. Their empire gowns were each a different color, unified by matching blue-print sheer overdresses. White wide-brimmed hats and hand bouquets of long-stemmed carnations and baby's breath completed their ensemble. Kelley Harder was flower girl and Tod Kath, ring bearer.

Mr. John Bloom, Loyal, was best man, and was assisted by Dennis Wahlers of Madison, Gary Kallberg of Owen, Terry Harder of Colby, Kenneth Knecht, Marshfield, and Robert Knecht, Abbotsford, as groomsmen. Dennis Schultz, Dixon, Illinois, and Rober Aitkins, Minneapolis, Minnesota, were ushers.

This marriage ceremony marked the fourth generation of men and women in the bride's family who were united in Holy Matrimony at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. Diane's great-grandparents were wed there in 1900; her grandparents in 1925; and her mother and father (d. 1961) in 1949.

After the ceremony, a dinner was held in the church basement, with a dance in the evening at Unity Memorial Hall. The newlyweds left for a honeymoon trip to Yellowstone National Park.

The bride is a 1973 graduate of Loyal High School. The groom attended Greenwood High School and served in the U.S. Army for 2 1/2 years, serving one year of active duty in Vietnam. He is presently employed at Bader Store Fixtures, Marshfield. The couple will reside at 300 D. Elm Street in Spencer.
