Krohn, Edna M. (Launspach) Ehlert (3 FEB 1923 - 3 DEC 2018)

Edna M. Ehlert Krohn, 95, passed away on Monday, December 3 at Aspirus Care & Rehab, Medford where she had resided for the past 5 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 8, at First Baptist Church, Medford, with Pastor Brian Wipf officiating. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at a later date in Meadowbrook Cemetery, Gilman.

Visitation will take place at First Baptist Church, Medford, from 9 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Saturday, December 8.

Edna was born on February 3, 1923, at Durango, Iowa, to William and Clara Eva (Hammel) Launspach. She attended Bellinger School, Town of Taft.

She was first married on September 8, 1942, at Santa Anna, CA to George H. Ehlert and they were later divorced. Her second marriage was on October 11, 1988, at First Baptist Church, Medford, to Orie A. Krohn. He preceded her in death May 9, 2010.

After her education, she helped on the family farm and later worked as a nanny in the Chicago area. After her 1st marriage, she worked for an airplane manufacturer in California. They returned to the Town of Taft where they farmed and she worked full time as a housewife & mother. Moved to Medford in 1956 where she later worked for Memorial Hospital in the laundry department for 12 years until her retirement. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, birds, flowers and gardening. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Medford and its Golden Agers.

Edna is survived by her children, Glory (Roger) Adams of Eau Claire, Edith Ehlert of Ferryville, WI & Diane (Sam Cacioppo) Ehlert of Medford; Daughter-in-law: Jayne Ehlert of Medford;
Step-Children: Bryce (Patricia) Krohn of New Brighton, MN; Bonnie (Gerald) Balciar of Parker, CO; Lynette (David) Lekie of Las Vegas, NV; Lois (Mark) Ruesch of Medford; Hilda (Jeffrey) Heglund of Menomonee Falls; Nyla (John) Gebert of Wausau; Lonna (Frank Szupica) Jonas of Racine; Robert (Carol) Krohn of Orlando, FL; William (Joan) Krohn of Mukwonago, WI; 6 grandchildren; 23 step grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 45 step great grandchildren.

She is further survived by siblings Beulah Ehlert of Thorp & Janet Nuemeister of Dubuque, IA.

She is predeceased by her parents; husband Orie A. Krohn; sons Gene Ehlert in 2015 and 1 in infancy; 2 step-great grandchildren; and a brother LeRoy Launspach.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the family for a tree to be planted in the City of Medford Riverwalk.
