Fettes, Karen Ann (Boehlen) (10 OCT 1965 - 30 DEC 2018)

Karen Ann Fettes, 53, of Stetsonville, passed away Sunday December 30, 2018 at her home, under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday January 5, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. Father Michael Hayden will officiate. Visitation will be held that morning at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at Noon.

Karen was born October 10, 1965 in Medford, WI to John and Katherine (Kowalewski) Boehlen. She is a 1984 Graduate of Medford Sr. High. She graduated from Elgin Community College with an Associates of Applied Science in Nursing. She married Allen J. Fettes on January 11, 1986 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Allen survives.

She is further survived by her Children: James (Amber) Fettes of Stetsonville, Amber Lynn Fettes Ottawa, IL, Grandchildren Saige and Sila Fettes of Stetsonville, Mother Katherine Boehlen of Stetsonville, Siblings: Dianne (Tom) Gabavics of Oshkosh, Lawrence Boehlen of Dorchester, Roger (Cindy) Boehlen of Medford, Rita (Brian) Bunkleman of Stetsonville, Parents in Law James and Elda Lou Fettes of Stetsonville, Brothers and Sisters in Law Terry (Karen) Fettes of Medford, Patrick (Lilly) Fettes of Johnsburg, IL, Renee (Shannon) Abraham of Harriet, MI.

Karen is preceded in death by her father John Boehlen and sister, Martha Trulhar.

Karen worked at Sherman Hospital in Elgin as a Registered Nurse for 10 years. In 1997, Karen and Allen moved back to Stetsonville and Karen worked for Medford Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, especially to her vacation home in South Padre Island, Texas. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially kids and grandkids. Karen loved to bake, and made an outstanding eclair dessert.

She was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Memorial donations in honor of Karen can be given to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Easterseals.
