Gregorich, Robert Peter “Bob” (18 December 1934 – 7 January 2019) With Flag

Robert P. “Bob” Gregorich, age 84, of Marshfield, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, January 7, 2019. His wish was to die at home, cared for by his 5 children and their families, surrounding him with love during his final weeks.

Robert Peter Gregorich was born on December 18, 1934 in Greenwood, to John J. and Julia (Tomac) Gregorich. He was raised on the family farm, attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1952. Bob then attended Gale Institute, a railroad school, in Minneapolis, MN. He was inducted into the U.S. Army, where he was a Morse Code Operator with confidential clearance. Bob served from December 1, 1954 until his honorable discharge on November 15, 1956. After returning from the service, he purchased his first farm in Greenwood, in 1958.

He was united in marriage to Rose Marie Degenhardt on April 18, 1959 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, in Loyal. In 1968, they purchased a farm in Loyal, where he worked, and they raised their family. After retiring, they built their retirement home in the Town of Lincoln, rural Marshfield, and moved there in 2001. Bob continued working on the farm with his son, Mark, and grandson, Brett, until 2016.

He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Loyal American Legion.

Bob had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, bowling, playing baseball, pitching horseshoes, trips to Montana, and playing cards with family and friends. He showed his family what true love was by caring for his wonderful, loving wife, Rosie.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Rosie, of 59 years; five children: Mark (Lori) of Spencer, and their children: Brett (Caitlin) and Melanie (fiancé Tjaden Brostowitz); Steve (Julie Ladwig) of Marshfield, and their children: Zach Molle and Megan Gregorich; Chuck (Lori) of Altoona, and their children: Jenny (Storm) Harmon, Tiffany (Jordan) Petersen, and Brittany (fiancé Jake Faanes); Sheri Stumpner (Scott Bauman) of Spencer, and their children: Cody Stumpner, Carly Stumpner, and Hayden Bauman; Peg (Bryan) Mischler of Greenville, and their children: Julia, Cal and Caden Mischler; three great-grandchildren: Raiden, Berklee and Marlee Harmon; two brothers: Joe (Karen) of Vacaville, CA, Ray (Marge) of Big Timber, MT; one sister: Nancy (Bob) Moseley of Greenwood; one sister-in-law: Audrey Gregorich of Willard; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: LaVerne and Bill Gregorich.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal, with Rev. Leo Stanislaus officiating. Pallbearers will be: Brett Gregorich, Zach Molle, Storm Harmon, Cody Stumpner, Cal Mischler, Caden Mischler, Hayden Bauman, Dennis Syth and John Schultz. Military rites will be conducted by the Loyal American Legion Post #175. Burial will be held in the parish cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at the church, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and again on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

The family would like to thank Ministry Home Care Hospice for their care and compassion helping them through Bob's final journey.

Memorials will be used for a Loyal F.F.A. scholarship, in Bob's name, to be established at a later date.
