Lueck, Grace M. “Irene” (Glenzer) (6 SEP 1924 - 13 JAN 2019)

Grace M. “Irene” Lueck, 94, of Rib Lake, passed away Sunday January 13, 2019 at Rib Lake Health Services, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.

A funeral service will held at 11:30, Saturday January 19, 2019 at Rib Lake United Methodist Church. Pastor Angel Rosario will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Rib Lake United Methodist Church from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday January 18, 2019 and also Saturday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of service.

Irene was born September 6, 1924 in Granton, WI to Anton and Rose (Schultz) Glenzer. She is a graduate of Granton High School. Irene married Marvin W. Lueck on February 26, 1944 in Medford. Marvin preceded her in death February 27, 2010.

She is survived by her Children: Kim (Roger) Gebauer, Robert Lueck, Carl (Kristin) Lueck all of Rib Lake, Carol (Jim) Bunkelman of Athens, Grandchildren: Amy (Jayson) Peterson, Neal (Amy) Gebauer, Damon, Kelli and Joshua Lueck, Jason Homer, Danielle (Eric) Bunkelman-Willhite, Alyssa Bunkelman (Fiance Brad Martyn), Jesse Bunkelman, Great Grandchildren: Emerson and Ryan Gebauer, Cole Peterson, Gage Bunkelman, Sisters in Law: Marion Glenzer of Colby, Rose Marie (Ray) Norlin of Tomahawk, Elaine (Howard) Heup of Appleton, Brother in Law Tom Slipka, Namesake Great Great Niece Grace Irene Johnson, and many other nieces and nephews.

She is further preceded in death by her Parents, Siblings: Vernon (Charlotte) Glenzer, Adeline (Lex) Leonard, Bud Glenzer, Rae Jean (Jerry) Doubek, Kenneth Glenzer and Lois Slipka.

Irene and Marvin moved back to Rib Lake in 1944 after Marvin completed his military service. She became a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, canning vegetables and baking, especially cookies, breads and buns. Irene enjoyed time spent with her husband fishing and traveling to visit family and friends. Irene loved her grandchildren, and always enjoyed babysitting them.

She was a member of the Rib Lake United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher for many years, and the Women’s Society where she often helped with church luncheons.
Memorial Donations in honor of Irene can be given to her family, with designation at a later date.
