Dahl, Marjorie E. (5 MAR 1952 – 19 JAN 2019)

Marjorie E. Dahl, 66, Granton, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at the Marshfield Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Visitation and funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 25, at Zion American Lutheran Church of Granton, with Rev. Dan Zimmerman officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church, with a luncheon to follow.

Marjorie “Margie” Esther Schlinsog was born on March 5, 1952, to Emil A. and Lorraine (nee Lucht) Schlinsog. She was raised on the family farm and attended Roder School until the age of 10 and then attended Granton Area Schools, from which she graduated in 1970. Margie then attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where she received her bachelor of arts degree in elementary education. She married Gary L. Dahl of Granton on June 21, 1975, and continued to teach third grade at Granton Area Schools for five years until she started her family and then continued substitute teaching for Granton Area Schools throughout the years. Margie, with her husband, bought and returned to the family farm in 1977 and resided there dairy farming, until the time of her passing. Margie was very active in the community as a 4-H leader for many projects and in her church where she started playing the organ at age 12 and then continued to be the church organist for more than 40 years until the time of her illness. She held various church leadership roles and was the Sunday School superintendent for many years, teaching the children of the church in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School during the summers. Margie also enjoyed traveling to see her family around Wisconsin, as well as traveling with her family many places such as Walt Disney World, Jamaica, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland and France. One of her favorite trips was to the Rocky Mountains when her children were young. She was an exceptional cookie maker and made tons of baked goodies for everyone. She also enjoyed reading lots of books, theatrical performances, Chinese food, concerts like Paul McCartney, and baby kittens, but not chickens.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 44 years; her three children: Shana (Rick) Tischaefer of Muskego, Lori (David) Brown of Greenfield, and Bryan Dahl of Granton. She was well-loved by her grandchildren: Alexander and Grace Tischaefer and Nathaniel Brown. She is also survived by her brother, Marvin Schlinsog, and sister-in-law Ann Marie Schlinsog of Marshfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Margaret (Peggy) Blaskowski; and her brother-in-law, Frederick Blaskowski.
