Herman Sebold F. (25 Sep 1912 - 10 Nov 1997)

Herman Francis Sebold, 85, Tomahawk, formerly of Marshfield and Dorchester, died Nov. 10, 1997, at the Riverview Rehabilitation and Care Center in Tomahawk, where he was admitted on Nov. 3.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, with Father James Schaefer presiding. Burial will be in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Herman Sebold was born on Sept. 25, 1912, to Wolfgang and Anna (Skerbeck) Sebold on the family farm in the town of Mayville. He attended St. Louis Catholic School in Dorchester.

On June 21, 1938, Herman and Lucille Gebert were united in marriage. They lived in Lodi until 1941, were he was a furniture truck driver. They later returned to Dorchester and Herman was employed as a beer distributor in Stetsonville. He was owner/operator of Sebold Oil Company in Dorchester until his retirement in 1975, and moved to Marshfield. His wife Lucille died on March 22, 1987. Winnie Ebert and Herman were married on May 17, 1991. They enjoyed spending their summers at their cottage on James Lake in Tomahawk and wintering at Clermont, Florida.

Herman was a 4th Degree member of the Medford Knights of Columbus, member of the Dorchester Lions Club and served as Chief of the Dorchester Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield. Herman was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife Winnie Sebold of Tomahawk; one sister, Helen Kramer of Abbotsford; one brother, Louis (Geraldine) Sebold of Dorchester; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lucille Sebold; three brothers: Joe Sebold, Max Sebold and Leo Sebold; and five sisters: Mary Behrens, Ann Crane, Tillie Lincoln, Sister Theodine, FSPA, and Edith Sebold.

Pallbearers are Dennis Kmiec, Dewey Sebold, Joe Sebold, Bob Ross, Jeff Wanke, Russell Wanke, Jason Wanke and Norman Gebert.
