Thomas M. Berg (17 Oct 1948-12 Apr 1998)

Thomas M. Berg, 49, Neenah, passed away April 12, 1998, at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield where a graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Friends may call at the Westgor Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the church.

He was born Oct. 17, 1948, in Oshkosh, the son of Melvin and Eleanor (nee Hastreiter) Berg. He graduated from Marshfield’s Columbus High School in 1967. Tom married Karleen Staab on June 29, 1973, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester.

Tom spent 20 years in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, where he spent three tours. He had also been stationed in Korea, New Mexico, Virginia, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Colorado and Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Karleen; two children, Matt and Kristine; two aunts, Mary Jane (Jim) Schlagenhaft of Menomonee Falls and Annette Ley of Marshfield; his father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Bernard and Irene Staab of Dorchester. Other survivors include sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by four uncles.
