Brown, Bertha (15 APR 1886 – 28 OCT 1969)

Mrs. George Brown, 83, a former Abbotsford resident, died Tuesday, October 28, 1969 at Ripon, Wisconsin Memorial Hospital, of a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 31 at the First Presbyterian Church at Abbotsford. The Rev. Kenneth Dix of Colby officiated, and burial was made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

The Lulloff Funeral Home of Colby was in charge of the arrangements.

The former Bertha Mink was born at Lake Linden, Michigan, April 15, 1886. She was married to Walter Peterson, who died in 1953. In 1955 she married Gorge Brown at Abbotsford. They lived on a farm east of Abbotsford until moving to Ripon about 10 years ago. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Abbotsford.

Surviving are three sons, Lawrence Peterson of Abbotsford, Philip Peterson of Ripon, and Vernon Peterson, also of Ripon, and three daughter, Mrs. Carl (Lillian) Marwitz of Ripon, Mrs. Leo (Lorrain) Stobb of Markesan, and Mrs. William (Ruth) Schatezka of Ripon. There are also 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

A sister, Mrs. Andrew Clark of Brandon, Wisconsin, also survives.

She was preceded in death by three children, as well as three sisters and a brother.
