Weix, Rose Ann (15 NOV 1969)

The Rev. Frank Rushman officiated at the wedding of Miss Rose Ann Weix and Aloysius Symicek on Saturday, November 15, 1969, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Weix of route 2, Colby, and Mrs. Caroline Symicek of Whitehall.

Miss Mary Ann Sterzinger, a friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Nancy Weix of Oshkosh, sister of the bride, and Miss Ruth Symicek of Eau Claire, the groom's sister.

The best man for his brother was Edmond Symicek of Whitehall. Groomsmen were John Weix, a brother of the bride, of Eau Claire, and a friend of the groom, Leonard Zimmer of Milwaukee.

Seating the guests at the church were Ken Chilson, Lawrence Weix and Joe Weix.

Music during the ceremony was provided by the Sisters of St. Mary's, and the parish children's choir.

The bride designed and made her own wedding town, in full length, fashioned of satin. Her veil was floor length, and she carried a bouquet of yellow tea roses, white carnations and white pompons.

The bridesmaids dresses were floor length with velvet tops and crepe skirts. The colors chosen were red, gold and brown. Their flowers were baskets of mums and carnations.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Colby City Hall in the afternoon. A turkey dinner was served at 4 p.m. A wedding dance was held in the evening at the Silver Dome Ballroom.

The bride, a graduate of the Colby High School and the School of Cosmetology at Eau Claire, was employed as a cosmetologist. The groom is a graduate of Whitehall High School and is a farmer and business employee.
