Gottschalk, Adel (17 FEB 1897 – 28 JAN 1970)

Funeral services for Adel Gottschalk, 72, of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.) were held Saturday, January 31, at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Church of Christ in Colby. The Rev. Kenneth Dix officiated. Burial was made in the Green Grove Cemetery.

The Lulloff Funeral Home of Colby was in charge of arrangements.

Adel Gottschalk died Wednesday, Morning, January 28, 1970 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

She was born Adel Johnson on February 17, 1897 in the town of Green Grove, Clark County, and attended local schools. She was married to William Gottschalk on August 6, 1913 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Grove. After their marriage, the couple farmed until retirement in April 1969. Since that time she has made her home in Marshfield with her daughter, Myrtle, and sons, Reuben and Albert.

She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Colby and a member of the Ladies Aid.

Survivors include three daughters, Alvina (Mrs. Orville Baumgart), Myrtle and Lucille (Mrs. Kenneth Kobs), all of Marshfield; seven sons, Carl and Harvey of Unity, Arnold of Colby, Albert and Reuben of Marshfield, Elroy of Brookfield, and Lavern of St. Francis; one brother, Oscar Johnson of Owen; seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

One daughter died in infancy. One sister also preceded her in death.
