Roewe, Charles E. (8 JUN 1891 – 28 APR 1970)
Charles Roewe, 78, of route 1, Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), died Tuesday evening, 
April 28, 1970, at the Bethel Convalescent Center at Arpin, where he had been 
for the past two weeks.
Funeral services were Friday, May 1, at 2:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian 
Church at Abbotsford (Clark Co.), with the Rev. Boy Jordon of Stevens Point 
officiating.
Interment was made in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Lulloff Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Charles Ernest Roewe was born at Oconto June 8, 1891 (some of the obit was 
missing at this point – From the Colby Memorial Cemetery listing it says he 
married Norma Miller on 11 May 1918) ….During the first years of their married 
life, he and his wife worked as cooks in the lumber camps of Wisconsin, while 
maintaining a home at Wausau. He was also a cook in the Army during World War I.
In 1928 they settle on a farm west of Colby and live there since. Mrs. Roewe 
died last December.
Mr. Roewe was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford.
One son, Vilas Roewe of route 1, Colby, survives. One sister and three brothers 
also survive. They are Mrs. Lydia Couillard, Frank and Edward of Oconto, and 
Henry of Abbotsford.
One brother and one sister are deceased.
